Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Everton boss David Moyes is the perfect choice to take over Manchester United.
With rumours rife that Ferguson is going to stay at Old Trafford for just one more season before calling it a day, the 68-year-old has hinted that Moyes is just the man to keep the Red Devils at the top of the Premier League, according to The Sun.
It was speculated that Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho was the top candidate to take over the reins at United but Ferguson has been a fan of Moyes' since his time at Preston North End.
The Red Devils are a point behind Chelsea in the Premier League table with three games left in the season, and should Ferguson guide his charges to another title, it would be their fourth in a row and his 12th since taking the job at Old Trafford in 1986.
Moyes had taken Everton on a great run to a possible Europa League berth.
After losing three straight matches in November, the Toffees have lost only two of the next 19 games and are four points adrift of Aston Villa for the last Europa League spot.
