Ezequiel Garay has called for Real Madrid to step up in their efforts to win the La Liga title, seeing that Barca are starting to falter.
Garay was speaking to the media after training and said that "Barcelona [had] lost important points" in their draw against Espanyol and their defeat against Inter Milan showed "clearly, the Blaugrana are not unbeatable".
"We are one point away from them [Barcelona] and we have to win the five finals that remain," the defender told AS. "We cannot fail."
Garay chose not to kick La Blaugrana while they were down after their 3-1 loss for the Nerazzurri, and said that there was still a second leg.
"Barcelona's defeat does not make me happy. I do not wish bad things upon anyone. It was a very difficult game and there is a second leg. In the end, the best team will progress."
Garay then stressed that Los Blancos' next game against Zaragoza was a must-win match.
"Every match is difficult, but we have to take away the full three points."
Real's starting centre-back Raul Albiol has been banned from playing in Saturday's game against Zaragoza, with Christoph Metzelder and Pepe both sidelined through injury, giving Garay the opportunity to play alongside Sergio Ramos in the centre of defence.
