La Liga:Villarreal vs Deportivo Preview

Villarreal will look to continue their superb home form under Juan Carlos Garrido when they welcome Deportivo La Coruna.

Since replacing Ernesto Valverde in the Villarreal hotseat midway through last season, Garrido has guided the Yellow Submarine to nine victories in 11 Primera Division and European games, with the only defeat being a 4-1 loss to Barcelona in May.

Among those sides to have been defeated are local rivals Valencia as well as Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, while in Villarreal´s two home matches this season they have thrashed Dnepr Mogilev 5-0 in the Europa League and Espanyol 4-0 in La Liga.

During that impressive run under Garrido, Villarreal also downed Depor 1-0 in last season´s corresponding league fixture and the east coast side are firm favourites to pick up another victory tomorrow, especially as the Galician outfit have not won away in the Primera Division since last November.

Depor have not managed a victory home or away this season either, drawing all three of their games, but Garrido is determined not to underestimate Miguel Angel Lotina´s outfit.

"They are a team who work well in defence and have good players," said Garrido, whose side have picked up six points from their opening three games.

Depor finally ended their barren spell in front of goal during Monday night´s encounter with Getafe, when Andres Guardado's two second-half penalties helped break a run of 342 minutes without scoring stretching back to last season.

Those goals were not enough to earn Depor the spoils though as they were held 2-2 by 10-man Getafe, leaving the northerners with three points so far.
