John Terry will lead Chelsea out against Portsmouth after being "scared" by an injury setback that threatened his dream of winning the double.
The Chelsea defender and captain hurt his right foot in a clash with reserve striker Daniel Sturridge in training on Wednesday but scans ruled out fears he had broken his metatarsal.
Terry came through a training session with no ill-effects but admitted he had been "scared" by the injury ahead of the FA Cup final and the World Cup.
"It was sorted out in a couple of hours but I was a bit scared, I must say," said Terry.
"I was just running back to goal and Daniel fell on top of me. My foot was caught underneath. I thought it was quite bad initially.
"But once I had the scan, it was just bruising and on Thursday there was no problem at all.
"I was delighted when I got the scan results and there was no ligament damage or anything like that. It was just a bit of bruising inside the foot so no problem at all.
"I felt good on Thursday, I felt nothing at all, passing the ball or striking the ball. I came straight here to see the doctor and he sent me for a scan straightaway.
"He could not tell what it was, it was always going to be a quick scan, nothing serious."
Terry stands on the brink of being only the seventh captain in the history of the game to achieve the double but he says it still will not make up for failing to win the Champions League with the Blues.
Terry's penalty miss against Manchester United two years ago cost them Europe's top competition and the England defender is still hurt by it.
"Nothing will ever make up for Moscow unless we go and win the Champions League in my lifetime," said Terry. "That's a fact.
"But we have got a chance to go down in the club's history, the double has never been done before at this club and we have a great chance to do it.
"Portsmouth may have been relegated but nobody here is taking the game lightly.
"They will have nothing to lose and will have great support so know it will be really tough.
"Mentally, we are not thinking our season's over. But it's in our hands now. If we play as well as we can do then with the players we've got, we've got a good chance. But by no means, are we going to be taking the game lightly.
"It could put a dampener on a really good season if we lose.
"Winning the double is probably right at the very top. It has never been done by anyone at the football club. Me being captain as well, I take a lot of pride in that and I'm looking forward to it for myself and the lads.
"We have worked so hard this season, it's been a tough ride, along the way, but we came through strong in the league together and that's what we have to do for one more game.
"Years ago I didn't think I would be in the position I'm in now. But once you get a taste of winning things, you want to carry on doing that."
Coach Carlo Ancelotti was delighted Terry came through their training session without any problems.
"John Terry had a problem on Wednesday on his foot," said Ancelotti.
"But on Thursday he trained well without problem. He is fit and ready to play on Saturday without problem."
