Premier League:Milan simply can't afford Adebayor

Italian giants AC Milan simply cannot afford to buy ace forward Emmanuel Adebayor, the striker's agent has claimed.

The Togo international, who is currently leading Manchester City's Champions League qualification assault in the Barclays Premier League, was linked with a move to the Serie A side before he agreed to join City from Arsenal last year.

However, any future move seems to now be dead and buried with the large wage bill that accompanies Adebayor set to be a permanent stumbling block for Milan.

"The player has signed a five-year contract with Manchester City and was an expensive purchase," Stephane Courbis told tuttomercatoweb.

"He has high wages that do not fall within the parameters of AC Milan, moreover, he is doing quite well in Manchester.

"You often only get one chance in football. Adebayor was close to Milan two years ago, but not anymore.

"Manchester City paid almost €28 million, they do not intend to sell him and these days Milan are not interested in players that cost that much.

"They are trying to sign players on a free transfer or within specific figures. The chance of Adebayor going to Milan is impossible."

Adebayor is set to feature for City as they aim to cement their fourth place spot when they entertain Birmingham City in a Premier League clash at Eastlands on Saturday.
