Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Robin van Persie could be back in April if everything goes to plan.
The Dutch striker has been out since November with ankle ligament damage sustained on international duty.
His absence has been noticeable for the Gunners who have been forced to make do with a limited force up front.
Van Persie notched seven goals in 11 games before becoming injured, with Wenger understandably desperate for his return to the frontline.
And the Frenchman believes that, should his recovery stay on track, the striker could be back by April.
"If you ask me is it the beginning of April, I would say categorically no because he has not started any real fitness work yet," Wenger told the club's official website.
"Once he starts that, it will take at least six weeks.
"Maybe (he will be back) at the end of April if all goes well. If there is no setback, he should be back before the end of the season but it is very difficult to predict."
