Italian Serie A Weekend Preview

Inter Milan have much to play for in the remaining games of the season, being involved in three competitions.

Not only are they a point clear at the top of Serie A heading into the final six matches, they also advanced to the final four of the Champions League with a 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night while they hold a 1-0 lead after the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against Fiorentina.

It is all shaping up nicely for Jose Mourinho's men who turn their focus back to domestic matters this weekend with another meeting against Fiorentina, this time in the league.

"We have to concentrate on the league," said Julio Cesar. "Because from now on, every game will be a final."

Roma and AC Milan are showing no signs of slowing down in their pursuit of the Nerazzurri.

Roma host relegation-threatened Atalanta on the back of four straight wins and having extended their unbeaten run in the league to 22 games last weekend.

Milan, who trail three points behind Inter and are two adrift of Roma, will be hoping not to become Catania's next victims when the two sides meet at the San Siro on Sunday.

Catania would like nothing more than to claim another famous scalp having beaten Inter and Palermo in recent weeks.

Palermo will be under pressure to claim all three points against Chievo if they are to hold on to fourth spot and the last Champions League qualifying spot.

The Rossaneri lost 2-0 against Catania in the last round to allow Sampdoria to go level with them on 51 points.

Samp face a mighty challenge as they look to end Genoa's recent dominance in the Lantern Derby.

Genoa have won their last three meetings against Samp.

If results go their way this weekend, Napoli could leapfrog Palermo and Samp into fourth.

The azzurri outfit, who lie sixth, two points behind fourth spot, host Parma on Saturday.

Juventus will look to make amends for their 3-0 humiliation at Udinese last time out when they take on fellow out-of-form side Cagliari.

Juve have dropped to seventh, three points behind the last Champions League qualifying spot.

The Bianconeri will be bolstered by the return of goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon from injury.

Udinese visit Leghorn to face bottom-side Livorno looking for their first win on the road this season.

The Friuli outfit have claimed just five points from a possible 48 in their away games so far.

Lazio will be under pressure to win at Bologna knowing that a defeat could see them drop into the relegation zone.

The Biancoceleste hold the last position of safety, three points clear of 18th-place Atalanta.

Siena host Bari needing a win to have any realistic chance of avoiding the drop this season.

The Bianconeri, who are eight points adrift of safety, have mustered just 26 points this season.
