Ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright has expressed concerns that Gunners winger Theo Walcott has not improved ever since he joined the Londoners.
The former Southampton player has not been making the impact expected with the London side and his form has dipped alarmingly for England as well.
The 20-year-old also took part in England's 3-1 win over Egypt and failed to impress.
According to arsenal-mania.com, Wright observed that Walcott has not improved much since joining the Gunners in 2006.
"I feel sorry for him. He's been at Arsenal a few years now and when you watched him yesterday it looked like he hasn't learned much about anything in respect of movement off the defender, receiving the ball and going past people," Wright said.
"He just seems to like to get the ball and hammer at people without any thought."
Wright admitted, however, that the Arsenal youngster has had a tough time with injuries and would benefit from a regular run of games.
He continued: "I think the injuries and being in and out of the team is not helping him. There's a lot of pressure on Theo and I feel quite sorry for him because he did look a little like somebody who had been thrust into something and he hasn't really got the confidence to play it out."
Wright added that there is a lot of competition for Walcott's position on the wing, and his performance yesterday won't have done him any favours.
He said: "At the end of the day there are other people waiting and that's how it is at England level, they are ruthless. If you have a bad game then someone is ready to come and pick up the pieces."
